I'm a CPA who ran the full gambit of the accounting world. I started with a Big 4 firm, then a mid-size firm, then moved to the public sector before jumping over into the venture-funded world. I was living at the office, missing time with my family, and hating every minute of it. The system was broken, but I didn't know how to fix it. Then in 2016, I took a job with a virtual accounting firm utilizing all cloud-based technology, and everything changed. Back then, most firms were content with being another brick in the wall. This firm was challenging the old school thoughts of how accounting firms should be run and operated. I soon became a leader in a fundamental shift in the way accounting firms operated. I was creating accounting systems that didn't just work; they evolved. They increased resources and improved businesses. I didn't have to fix the system anymore. Now I could change it.
